HERSEY KISS HAT

Materials: sport weight yarn, size 4/5 16” circular needles

Gauge: 6 sts and 8 rows per inch

Cast on 140 sts. Use stitch marker to mark beginning of row. Work in K1, P1 rib for 4 inches.

Top-shaping:
*K3 tog, (p1, k1) 12 times; p1. Repeat from * across (10 sts decreased). Work in ribbing for 3 rows.
Next row: *K3 tog, (p1, k1) 11 times; p1. Repeat from * across (10 sts decreased).
Work in ribbing for 3 rows.

Work in this manner, decreasing 10 sts every 4 rows until 10 sts remain. Break off, leaving a 6” tail of yarn. Thread yarn through a tapestry needle and draw through remaining stitches. Pull up tightly and fasten off securely inside the hat.
